between now and christmas eve, the white house says president obama is going to be doing some public thing every day to highlight good things about health reform, and to get people to sign up for insurance. december 23rd is the next big enrollment deadline for obama care, so the white house is taking on a new effort to fight back against the law's extremely loud critics. you can find of feel the change in tone from the white house on this subject already. they don't sound like they're playing defense on the subject anymore. the president gave a short kickoff speak about it this afternoon in washington, d.c., and i think it was telling this was the biggest applause line in the speech. >> i have always said i would work with anybody to implement and improve this law effectively. you have good ideas, bring them to me. let's go. but we're not repealing it as long as i'm president. i want everybody to be sure of that. >> on thursday this week, the venue will be different, the crowd bill probably be a little younger, and the president will be forced off script undoubtedly because president

., anymore? they are not repealing obama care anymore. the house of representatives was back at work today, which is a notable thing. doesn't happen all that often. if you put together all the hours that they are in session this month, they woke up today facing six full days of work for the entire month of december, starting today. six days in a month? oh, man! they're going to be home by december 13th for the year. and they are not planning on spending their precious working moments voting to repeal obama care anymore. since republicans took over the house, they have voted to repeal obama care 46 times! but they have stopped doing that now. since the shutdown, no more repeal obama care votes. repealing obama care now would mean they would be taking insurance from hundreds of thousands of americans. when they come back in january, it will be hundreds of thousands more americans who not just don't have just the promise of health insurance, but who are actually experiencing health insurance coverage, many of them for the first time in their lives. voting to repeal obama care was an expressio

that would explicitly rip the obama administration's nuclear deal with iran. quote, a handful of house gop lawmakers tell the hill that the party is debating how best to show disapproval for the iran agreement struck shortly after congress left for the thanksgiving recess. this is the new plan. republicans are going to try to make president obama look terrible for negotiating that new agreement over iran's nuclear program and in the process of making him look terrible they, of course, will show the country that they, themselves, republicans are much better on the issue. they are much more trustworthy, much more sober, much more sane when it comes to dealing with complicated and sensitive issues like iran and nuclear weapons in the middle east. republicans want to show off how much americans should prefer their republican approach when it comes to iran. as part of that new political offensive, behold duncan hunter on c-span. >> i think a ground war in iran with american boots on the ground would be a horrible thing and i think people like to toss around the fact that we have to stop the
